Personalism in pedagogy

Od greckiej starożytności do dnia dzisiejszego trwa w pedagogice spór pomiędzy kolektywizmem, indywidualizmem i personalizmem wychowawczym. Kolektywizm i indywidualizm wyrastają z tradycji myślowej idealizmu, zaś personalizm jest konsekwencją realizmu poznawczego. We współczesnej debacie pedagogicznej dochodzi do głosu personalizm, według którego człowiek jest osobą, ale toczy się spór o to, jakie właściwości konstytuują osobę ludzką. W artykule porządkuje się powyższe ujęcia i wyjaśnia tę kwestię, przywołując realistyczną (klasyczną) antropologię.

From ancient Greece to the present day, there remains in pedagogy a dispute between collectivism, individualism and personalism. Collectivism and individualism arise from the tradition of intellectual idealism, while personalism is a consequence of cognitive realism. In contemporary pedagogical debates personalism asserts that man is a person, but the dispute revolves around what qualities constitute the human person. This article presents the aforementioned approaches and explains this issue in the spirit of realistic (classic) anthropology.
