A language teacher of the new generation in the light of European Documents

Kształcenie nauczycieli języka polskiego jako obcego jest zagadnieniem stosunkowo słabo rozwiniętym w glottodydaktyce polonistycznej. Tymczasem wzrastająca liczba kursów języka i coraz większe zróżnicowanie uczących się stawia nauczycielom wysokie wymagania. Niniejszy tekst poddaje analizie role współczesnego nauczyciela języka polskiego jako obcego oraz funkcje, które powinien pełnić. Podstawą prowadzonych rozważań na temat sposobu jego pracy są dokumenty europejskie zawierające opis kluczowych kompetencji nauczycieli języków obcych.

The education of teachers of Polish as a foreign language, its goals and objectives is a subject relatively rarely explored in Polish applied linguistics. Meanwhile, the growing number of Polish language courses and the increasing diversity of learners make teaching Polish more and more challenging. The paper presents an analysis of roles and functions that nowadays should be taken on and/or performed by a teacher of Polish as a foreign language. The framework for this discussion is provided by European documents containing descriptions of key competences of foreign language teachers.
