Portuguese-based creole languages from Cape Verde and Ziguinchor (Senegal) : contrastive study

W niniejszej pracy przeprowadzamy analizę porównawczą dwóch języków kreolskich na bazie portugalskiego używanych w Republice Zielonego Przylądka i w mieście Ziguinchor, stolicy senegalskiej prowincji Casamance. Przedstawiamy krótki opis ich genezy i ewolucji, wskazując na podobieństwa i możliwe przyczyny różnic, także na poziomie społecznym i politycznym. Główną osią naszej analizy jest jednak porównanie pisowni, morfoskładni i leksyki wspomnianych języków, opierając się na teorii ich podobieństwa genetycznego. W celu zaprezentowania przykładów w analogicznych kontekstach, wybraliśmy jako nasz korpus tłumaczenia na analizowane języki kreolskie dzieła Antoine’a de Saint-Exupéry’ego "Le Petit Prince" ("Mały Książę").

With this work we intend to conduct a contrastive study of two Portuguese-based creole languages: Creole of Cape Verde and of Ziguinchor, the capital city of the Casamance province in Senegal. We try to present a brief description of its genesis and evolution, indicating the similarities and the possible reasons for the differences, also on a social and political level. The main axis of our analysis will be, however, a comparison of spelling, morphosyntactic and lexical features of the two creoles, taking as a basis the theory of their genetic similarity. In order to observe the examples in analogical contexts, we have chosen as our corpus the respective translations of the work of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, "Le Petit Prince" ("The Little Prince").
