In The gay science, Friedrich Nietzsche leaves us some hints not only about the way in which he imagines future mankind, but also about the places where it will inhabit. The condition from which Sils Maria's philosopher starts is known: “the fact that God is dead, that belief in the Christian God has become unbelievable”. On one side, the new situation casts a shadow on Europe, takes with it the marks of bewilderment. Some faces darken, some other faces languish. On the other side, God's death also means that the horizon is finally free and man, or better the man of knowledge, can now undertake the most daring flights of thought. He can venture out to stormy seas, can go towards any danger.
