W "Jedyny i jego własność" Max Stirner przedstawia dwa podstawowe typy samoluba - samoluba świadomego i samoluba nieświadomego. W obrębie samoluba nieświadomego wyróżnia dodatkowo dwa jego podtypy - samoluba pospolitego i samoluba mimowolnego. W Etyce nikomachejskiej Arystoteles prezentuje dwa typy samoluba - samoluba pozytywnego i samoluba negatywnego. Celem artykułu jest wykazanie, że koncepcja samoluba pozytywnego w ujęciu Arystotelesa wykazuje największe podobieństwo do koncepcji samoluba świadomego w ujęciu Maxa Stirnera.

In "The ego and its own" Max Stirner shows two types of the self-lover: conscious and unconscious. He additionally distinguishes two subtypes within the self-lover unconscious : common and unmeant. In The Nicomachean Ethics Aristotle shows two types of the self-lover: positive and negative. The article is devoted to demonstrating that idea of the positive self-lover according to Aristotle shows the greatest similarity to idea of the conscious self-lover according to Max Stirner.
