Bibliographic relationships

W artykule przedstawiony został jeden ze składników modelu jednostka-relacja (encja-relacja, ang. entity-relationship - ER), mianowicie relacje wyróżniane między elementami modelowanej rzeczywistości. Zastosowanie modelowania ER do uniwersum bibliograficznego powoduje wyróżnianie relacji. które nazywane są bibliograficznymi. Są to relacje występujące pomiędzy jednostkami bibliograficznymi posiadającymi wspólne charakterystyki. Przedstawiono sposoby opisu relacji w modelach ER za pomocą takich charakterystyk jak stopień, liczność, uczestnictwo i in. Omówiono rodzaje relacji wyróżnione w formacie UNIMARC, modelu FRBR oraz wskazane przez Barbarę Tillett, Richarda Smiraglia i in. Opisano także wpływ nowych technologii (środowisko online) na wykorzystanie relacji bibliograficznych.

The article describes one of the components of Entity-Relationship (ER) model, i.e. relationships between various elements of modelled reality. The application of ER modelling to a bibliographic universe results in the definition of specific relationships, i.e. bibliographic relationships. The relationships in question link bibliographic entities sha-ring certain characteristics. The article depicts the possibilities of relationship description in ER model with regard to such characteristics as degree, cardinality, participation etc. Moreover, the author of the artide discusses relationships as distinguished by UNIMARC format, FRBR model as well as those described by authors like Barbara Tillett, Richard Smiraglia and others. Finally, the article offers same observations on new technologies (mainly within online environment) that influence the application of bibliographic relationships.
