Artykuł poświęcony jest filozofii Immanuela Kanta, a w szczególności jego koncepcji dotyczących prawa międzynarodowego i polityki światowej, które dzisiaj reprezentowane są przez niektóre nurty teorii liberalizmu w stosunkach międzynarodowych. Tekst składa się z trzech części. Pierwsza zawiera opis poglądów I. Kanta na ogół relacji międzynarodowych oraz jego wytyczne dotyczące osiągnięcia pokoju między narodami. Druga część przedstawia charakterystykę współczesnej myśli liberalnej w obszarze badawczym stosunków międzynarodowych, a ostania te elementy filozofii I. Kanta, które dostrzec można we współczesnej teorii demokratycznego pokoju. Ponadto, artykuł przedstawia najważniejsze tezy wysuwane przez krytyków teorii demokratycznego pokoju

The aim of this paper is to present the main elements of the Immanuel Kant’s philosophy, especially the ones related to his idea of international law and his considerations on the world politics. The paper is divided into three parts. Firstly, I focus on the conception of perpetual peace that was created by I. Kant. Secondly, I try to present the main assumptions of the liberal theory in International Relations discipline. Finally, the paper will also demonstrate the debate on the democratic peace that has its origins in a resurgence of interest in I. Kant's political philosophy. In addition, I try to focus on the main arguments presented by critics of the theory of liberal democratic peace.
