For the cake kremówka by the coffee kapucyn to Noworol restaurant - about typical cooking vocabulary in Cracow Summary The aim of this article is to present Cracowian regionalisms associated with semantic field “Cuisine”. Cracowian regionalisms have never been the topic of systematic research and weren’t issued in the form of separate dictionary. In order to fulfil these needs the Institute of the Language History and Dialectology at Polish Philology Department at Jagiellonian University decided to start the team project which was focusing on the description and analysis of the language typical for Cracowian citizen (with special interest in lexicon). The cooking vocabulary presented in this article is the effect of this team work. This vocabulary appears to be the largest of the semantic fields, which were research. The authors describe the Cracowian cooking vocabulary and dividing it into smaller subfields. Moreover they compare it with well described Poznanian cooking vocabulary and with research on general Polish cooking lexicon. In addition the article is supplied with the discussion about the types of regional cuisine vocabulary and also it popularity and usage in Cracow.
