The role of design thinking in education management as a design science

dc.abstract.enOrganization and general management theory is not s ufficient to solve the contemporary education problems. This complex, ill-formulated, m isleading social problems need an interdisciplinary synthesis of the various sciences and the experience of education practice. Thus, th e purpose of the paper is to discuss on the epistemol ogical and methodological status of the education management field seen from the perspective of desig n sciences and design thinking approach. Design thinking comes from designers' practice and at pres ent it is an approach to creative and innovative ways of solving open, complex and unambiguous manag ement problems. As a part of scientific knowledge in the design sciences dealing with human projects and aimed at changing existing situations into preferred ones may provide a new pe rspective of the description and explanation of education management problems. The discussion is th eoretical and primarily based on the method of the analysis and criticism of literature on managem ent, education management, design thinking and the sciences of the artificial. The research method used to solve the scientific problem is deduction referred to the critical literature study.pl
