Choice between "I don’t exist" and "I am not existed" and "way to the resurrection" : back to beginnings and trying to change the world in Jacek Dukaj’s "Lód"

Artykuł przedstawia omówienie wątków z powieści Jacka Dukaja Lód pod kątem ich związków z tematyką powrotu do początku i tworzenia nowego świata. Dukaj, będąc pisarzem science fiction, w większości swoich tekstów próbuje reinterpretować kategorię człowieczeństwa - w Lodzie natomiast te próby są bardzo silne. W powieści pojawiają się motywy takie jak nawiązanie do filozofii Mikołaja Fiodorowa, ideologicznego ojca transhumanizmu; w innych miejscach widoczne są nawiązania do różnych koncepcji filozoficznych, na przykład poprzez zanegowanie opozycji żywy - martwy (czy nawet istniejący - nieistniejący) czy też rozważania na temat roli języka. Te tematy - i inne sygnalizowane w artykule - stanowią części literackiej wizji nowego człowieka, nowego człowieczeństwa i nowego świata.

The paper analyzes the novel Lód, written by Jacek Dukaj, in terms of its links with the ideas of back to beginning and “new world”. Dukaj, as a science fiction writer, in most of his works try to reinterpret the category of humanity. In Lód, however, these attempts are strong. In the novel appear some unambiguous signs, such as a reference to Nikolai Fyodorov, the ideological father of transhumanism. In other places of the novel we can find issues connected with philosophical thoughts e.g. the negation of the opposition alive - dead (and even existing - non-existing) or conditionality of primordial role of language and the human mind. All of these issues - and much more discussed in this article - are parts of the literary vision of new human, new humanity and new world.
