Polish and German lexical correlates of ideational schema of time

Bliskość względnie oddalenie kultur, przejawiające się w poszczególnych podsystemach kodu kultury, można badać m.in porównując sposoby oglądu fragmentów rzeczywistości świata realizowane w różnych językach. Porównanie polskich i niemieckich leksykalnych korelatów schematów wyobrażeniowych jako elementów ewokujących określoną kulturę (Brzezinowa 2005, 14) ma na celu sprawdzenie w odniesieniu do konceptualizacji odcinka czasu obejmującego 24 godziny słuszności tezy Galtunga (1985) o przynależności kultury polskiej i niemieckiej do tego samego stylu intelektualnego.

Polish and German lexical correlates of ideational schemata of time Cultural proximity or cultural distance, which manifest themselves in particular subsystems of the cultural code, can be studied, among others, by means of comparing the ways of perceiving fragments of the world reality as realized in various languages. The aim of the comparison of Polish and German lexical correlates of ideational schemata as elements which shape a particular culture (Strycharska-Brzezina 2005: 14) is to check, with regard to the conceptualisation of the time period covering 24 hours, the legitimacy of Galtung’s thesis (1985) that the Polish and the German cultures make use of the same intellectual style.
