Abstract in English
The paper aims at the review of interaction between water operators who impose new water tariffs and main water consumers - households. The research was conducted using 2010-2014 data describing the biggest 115 cities responsible for consumption of the half of municipal water in Poland. The new part of water tariff - the flat rate fee supplementing volumetric tariff significantly increases the water bill, but surprisingly the demand reactions of the consumers are not visible. Such part of water bill does not create the incentive for water savings.
