German export of armaments to Bulgaria between August 1938 and February 1941

W artykule omawiana jest kwestia niemieckich dostaw uzbrojenia do Bułgarii od 1 sierpnia 1938 roku do 1 marca 1941 roku. W tym okresie Bułgaria, dzięki udzielonym przez Berlin kredytom, dokonała znacznych zakupów różnego rodzaju uzbrojenia, przygotowując się do realizacji swoich celów rewizjonistycznych w postaci odzyskania utraconych po I wojnie światowej terytoriów. Dostawy niemieckiej broni nie pozwoliły na uzupełnienie braków i uzyskanie przez Bułgarię statusu znaczącej siły militarnej na Bałkanach. Stanowiły one za to ważne narzędzie umacniania wpływów Berlina w tym bałkańskim państwie, co skutkowało ostatecznie przyłączeniem się Bułgarii do koalicji państw "Osi" na początku 1941 roku.

The article discusses the issue of German export of armaments to Bulgaria from August 1st, 1938 to March 1st, 1941. Within these two and half year Bulgaria, thanks to the credits granted by Berlin, bought many different types of weaponry, preparing for the realization of its revisionist goals, mostly regaining the territories lost after the end of WWI. German deliveries of armaments did not let Bulgaria to fill gaps in its army equipment and regain the status of a strong military power in the Balkans, but were a useful tool in hands of Berlin, aiming at strengthening its position in this Balkan country. Finally, Bulgaria joined the Axis powers in the beginning of 1941.
