W ciągu ostatnich kilku lat w Polsce dziecko stało się obiektem masowych interwencji ze strony profesjonalistów (pracowników socjalnych, pedagogów, psychologów, lekarzy, itp.), którzy za wszelką cenę starają się naprawić „zaniedbane dzieciństwo”. Powstają koncepcje „przemocy domowej wobec dzieci”, „dzieci ulicy” czy „infantylizacji ubóstwa”, które opisują przemiany w rodzinie współczesnej z punktu widzenia najmłodszego pokolenia. Można zaryzykować twierdzenie, że tworzy się swoistego rodzaju „kwestia dziecięca”, a funkcjonowanie rodziny oceniane jest przez pryzmat niezaspokojonych potrzeb tych najmłodszych. Problem w tym, że to rosnące zainteresowanie sytuacją dzieci wśród dorosłych oraz podejmowane przez nich działania na rzecz pomocy dzieciom koncentrują się na pomocy doraźnej. Dowodem na to są stale rosnące nierówności społeczne oraz zwiększający się poziom patologizacji wśród dzieci w coraz młodszym wieku. W rezultacie, w literaturze, mediach, debacie publicznej dorosłych, dzieci opisywane są jako grupa niezdolna do „moralnej naprawy”, jak też stanowiąca „społeczne i ekonomiczne obciążenie”, co prowadzi do przyjęcia strategii ścisłego nadzoru i kontroli zamiast rzeczywistej pomocy i wsparcia.Niniejszy artykuł stanowi zatem refleksję na temat społecznego fenomenu dzieciństwa, jego wymiarów oraz sposobów analizy, jak również wyzwań i dylematów pracy socjalnej z tymi, którzy z uwagi na swoje historie i towarzyszące im problemy społeczne narażeni są na funkcjonowanie poza głównym nurtem życia społecznego.

In the past few years in Poland child became the object of massive intervention by professionals (social workers, educators, psychologists, doctors, etc.), who by all means try to fix "neglected childhood". Various concepts of "domestic violence against children", "street children" or "infantilization of poverty" that appear, describe the changes in the family from the point of view of contemporary youngest generation. You can say that a kind of "childhood matter" is created, and as a result, afamily functioning is assessed from the perspective of the needs of these children. The problem is that this growing interest in the situation of children among adults, and their actions to help the children focus on short term assistance. This is evidenced by the ever-growing social inequalities and the increasing level of pathologization among children at a younger age. As a result, in the literature, the media, the public debate adults, children are described as a group incapable of "moral recovery", as well as constituting the "social and economic burden," which leads to the adoption of the strategy of strict supervision and control instead of real help and support. This article is therefore a reflection on the social phenomenon of childhood, its dimensions and methods of analysis, as well as the challenges and dilemmas of social work with those who, due to their stories and accompanying social problems, are exposed to the functioning outside the mainstream of society.
