Książka Romantyczne koncepcje poezji. Poeta i Muza - relacja w stanie kryzysu stanowi propozycję odczytania wybranych utworów jako świadectwa dokonującego się w romantyzmie, charakterystycznego dla nowoczesności, kryzysu poezji. Jest on przedstawiony na przykładzie naznaczonego "lękiem przed wpływem" stosunku poety do źródła jego inspiracji i zarazem do tradycji reprezentowanych przez figurę Muzy. Zaproponowane tu interpretacje zmierzają do ukazania, jak topos Muz w ujęciu romantyków ulega rozpadowi, konwencjonalizacji lub przeciwnie - zyskuje nowe znaczenia. Książka składa się z części syntetycznej - ukazującej charakterystyczne dla całego romantyzmu tendencje w formułowaniu koncepcji poezji oraz z części analitycznej - poświęconej Alfredowi de Musset i Juliuszowi Słowackiemu. Obydwaj poeci jawią się tu jako przedstawiciele pokolenia szczególnie mocno doświadczającego kryzysu poezji, którzy w swoich tekstach dokonują dekonstrukcji romantyzmu, pozostając w jego ramach.

Magdalena Siwiec’s Romantic conceptions of poetry. The Poet and the Muse - a relationship in the state of crisis (Alfred de Musset and Juliusz Słowacki) constitutes a proposition of reading texts recognized as a testimony of crisis in poetry which develops in the period of Romanticism. This crisis, typical of modernity, is presented through the example of the relationship between the Poet and the source of his inspiration and the tradition - both represented by the figure of the Muse. This relationship is stigmatized by the "anxiety of influence". The interpretation proposed in this book aims at showing how the topos of the Muses is decomposed in romantic realizations, how it becomes conventional or - on the contrary - gains new signification. The book is composed of two parts - the synthetic one presenting tendencies of poetry typical of Romanticism and the analytic one dedicated to Alfred de Musset and Juliusz Słowacki. Both poets appear as representatives of the ecole de desenchantement, of the generation which experiences particularly profoundly the crisis of poetry. Słowacki and Musset in their texts deconstruct Romanticism remaining within its framework.
