The author of the famous novel Hopscotch is known for his experimental attitude to literature, and conceptions relative to creating and perception. One of his most important ideas is the conception of the role of the reader. Cortázar divided readers into two groups. In the first one there are people, who are satisfied with the facade of the words and don’t try to find anything more - those are female readers. The second group are made of people who accompany writer in his literary journey. Thanks to ability of thinking out of the box they become co-creators - i.e. accomplice readers. The idea of Cortázar displays not only in his essays or Morelli’s notes about literature which are parts of Hopscotch. It can be seen in his writing manner, composition, language and way of narration. The conception corresponds with other theorists’ ideas, e.g. post-structuralists (Roland Barthes, Julia Kristeva, Jacques Derrida), Wolfgang Iser and Umberto Eco.pl
