The database of the students at the Jagiellonian University 1850-1918

Autor wyjaśnia koncepcję elektronicznej bazy danych na temat studentów Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, którzy studiowali w tymże Uniwersytecie w Krakowie pomiędzy latami 1850/51 a 1917/18. Opisuje wybrane, historyczne warunki i zasady prawidłowo skonstruowanej, komputerowej bazy danych w Archiwum Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Oparte na źródłach informacje o studentach istnieją w tym Archiwum w formie papierowej (archiwalne dokumenty, rejestry [katalogi]). Aktualnym celem Archiwum jest stworzenie informacji w formie elektronicznej, która może być znajdywana przez użytkowników bezpośrednio on-line w całej światowej sieci internetowej.

The author explains the conception of electronic data basis on students of the Jagiellonian University, who were studying in this University in Cracow between years 1850/51 and 1917/18. He describes the selected historical conditions and rules of the well-done computer data basis in the Jagiellonian University Archives. Source-based information on students exists in this Archives in the paper form (archival documents, e. g. registers). The actual aim of the Archive is the creation information in the electronic form, which can be find by users on-line on world wide web.
