Oto próba dowiedzenia, że humor może posłużyć za narzędzie zachęty do interpretacji rzeczywistości – co wynika z szeregu omówionych tutaj przyczyn. Humorystyczne memy czy dowcipy są starannie konstruowane tak, by wywoływać pożądany efekt jedną prostą kreską, czy też pociągnięciem pędzla – co wymaga interakcji odbiorcy, który powinien dorysować sobie to, czego w tak naszkicowanej scenie brakuje. Zebrane tu przykłady humoru znalezionego w sieci plasują się w kilku kategoriach, jak nagłe od krycie podobieństwa między różniącymi się elementami (moment Eureka!), konieczność znajomości złożonego kontekstu, odniesienia do stereotypów, skryptów komicznych, symboli narodowych, tabu, czy innych elementów powodujących emocjonalne napięcie, nawiązań do rozpoznawalnych postaci i ich cech charakterystycznych, a także gier językowych, ironii czy nawet sarkazmu. Kategorie te nakładają się na siebie i wielokrotnie dochodzą do głosu, co tylko podkreśla główne założenie – humor to pułapka, w którą dobrowolne wpadamy dla przyjemności, by dać się zawieść tam, gdzie zwykle sami się nie wybieramy.

The article attempts to demonstrate that humour can be seen as a tool to entice the audience to interpret the reality behind it. This happens for a number of reasons discussed in the article. Humorous memes or jokes taken into consideration are carefully constructed, and thus the scenes they evoke are sketched with single or few “brush strokes”. This implies the necessary interaction of the audience in filling in the missing strokes. The collected examples of online humour are divided into several categories including those involving the sudden discovery of similarity between dissimilar elements (the “aha” moment), the need for a complex background information load such as a political context, references to stereotypes, comic scripts, national symbols, references to taboos and other elements which evoke emotional tension, references to recognizable figures and their flagship traits, as well as language play, including irony or even sarcasm. These categories naturally overlap and surface in many examples, which only emphasizes the main claim – humour is a trap that we willingly fall into for the sake of immediate pleasure, and let ourselves to be led where we would not normally want to go.
