Historie o seryjnych mordercach od dawna budzą zainteresowanie wśród entuzjastów prawdziwych zbrodni, psychologów, a nawet przeciętnych ludzi. Z coraz większą częstotliwością branża medialna skupiła swoje projekty na tych potworach, liczne seriale telewizyjne, ilustrują kulturową fascynację seryjnymi mordercami i ich historiami. Sławę tym mordercom nie przynoszą tylko ich czyny, wśród wielu historii maja również miejsce liczne kontrowersje związane z działaniami służb. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów skupiających się na trzech różnych stronach tematu przedstawionych poniżej. Pierwszy rozdział pracy opisuje jednego z najpopularniejszych seryjnych morderców- Jeffrey’a Dahmer’a, po pierwsze od strony historycznej, poprzez charakterystykę postaci, opisanie straszliwych zbrodni jakich się ten mężczyzna dokonał w latach od 1978 do 1991 roku oraz jego pojmanie. Drugi rozdział skupia temat od strony błędów służb, które odegrały znaczącą role w tej historii, a związane z nimi kontrowersje stały się tematem licznych rozmów i wpadły w ogień krytyki. W trzecim rozdziale praca przedstawia również inspirację postacią Jeffrey’a wśród dzisiejszych twórców filmów oraz seriali, a co z tym idzie wpływ jaki efekt tej inspiracji może mieć na percepcję społeczeństwa. Stories about serial killers have long aroused interest among true-crime enthusiasts, psychologists and even average people. With increasing frequency, the media industry has focused its projects on these monsters, numerous television series, illustrate the cultural fascination with serial killers and their stories. The notoriety of these killers is not only brought by their deeds, among the many stories there are also numerous controversies related to the actions of the services. The work consists of three chapters focusing on three different sides of the topic presented below. The first chapter of the work describes one of the most popular serial killers - Jeffrey Dahmer, first from the historical side, by characterizing the figure, describing the terrible crimes committed by this man between 1978 and 1991 and his capture. The second chapter focuses the subject from the side of the mistakes of the services that played a significant role in the story, and the related controversies have become the subject of numerous conversations and have caught the fire of criticism. In the third chapter, the work also presents the inspiration of Jeffrey's character among today's filmmakers and TV series, and consequently the impact that the effect of this inspiration can have on public perception. The work, through Dahmer's story, also brings an understanding of the definition of a serial killer, and through a survey, shows how despite the fact that the story of the American serial killer may seem little known and uninfluential in our society, it is becoming an ever-expanding topic among the public in the age of the Internet and the popularization of serial killer movies/series.
