Reference library of the Files Branch at Collegium Medicum in the Archives of the Jagiellonian University : introduction to the collection

Biblioteka podręczna w Archiwum Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego - Oddział Akt Collegium Medicum, które obecnie mieści się w budynku przy ul.Śniadeckich 16 w Krakowie, posiada niewieli zbiór biblioteczny (liczący około jednego tysiąca tomów), który skupia się głównie na problematyce odnoszącej się do Akademii Medycznej w Krakowie (1950-1993). Autor artykułu omawia problem organizacji biblioteki, historię i najważniejszą charakterystykę zbioru, jak również jego stan zachowania; także prezentuje pewne ogólne informacje dotyczące treści zbioru i analizuje metody katalogowania zbioru.

The reference library in the Archives of the Jagiellonian University - the Files Branch of Collegium Medicum, which is currently housed in the building at No 16 Sniadeckich St. in Cracow, has a small book collection (consisting of around one thousand volumes) which focuses mainly on issues relating to the Medical Academy in Cracow (1950-1993) and the medical College of the Jagiellonian University (since 1993). The author of the article discusses the problem of the organization of the library, the history and chief characteristics of the collection, as well as its condition; he also presents some general information regarding the content of the collection and analyzes the methods of cataloging the collection.
