Bazarov as an example of russian nihilist against the background of the european nihilism

Poniższa praca „Turgieniewowski Bazarow jako przykład rosyjskiego nihilisty na tle nihilizmu europejskiego” jest poświęcona dokładniej analizie charakteru i zachowań głównego bohatera powieści Iwana Turgieniewa – Ojcowie i dzieci. Głównym celem badawczym jest zweryfikowanie hipotezy, czy Eugeniusza Bazarowa można nazwać nihilistą w oparciu o jego definicje, opracowane przez europejskich filozofów, a także te powstałe na rosyjskim gruncie. Praca skupia się na zbadaniu różnych wariantów i definicji nihilizmu, a także zgłębia poglądy myślicieli najważniejszych dla rozwoju tego nurtu na zachodzie. Szczegółowo opisane zostają specyfika rosyjskiego nihilizmu oraz światopogląd autora powieści – Iwana Turgieniewa. W części analitycznej skonfrontowano figurę Bazarowa z przytoczonymi wyżej wariantami i poglądami nihilistycznymi. Praca została napisana w oparciu o literaturę i artykuły naukowe w językach: polskim, rosyjskim i angielskim. W wyniku analizy udowodniono, że Bazarow jest nihilistą, prezentującym w jednej postaci przekrój zachowań nihilistycznych, zgodnych z europejskimi i rosyjskimi definicjami tego nurtu. W toku rozważań dostrzeżono również silny wpływ romantyzmu, który obija się w działaniu Eugeniusza Bazarowa.

The following work "Turgenev's Bazarov as an example of a Russian nihilist against the background of European nihilism" is devoted to a detailed analysis of the character and behavior of the main character of Ivan Turgenev's novel Fathers and Sons. The main research goal is to verify the hypothesis whether Eugene Bazarov can be called a nihilist based on its definitions developed by European philosophers, as well as those created in Russia. The work focuses on examining various variants and definitions of nihilism, as well as explores the views of thinkers most important for the development of this trend in Europe. The specificity of the russian nihilism and the worldview of the novel's author, Ivan Turgenev, are described in detail. In the analytical part, the figure of Bazarov was confronted with the above-mentioned variants and nihilistic views. The work was written on the basis of literature and scientific articles in polish, russian and english. As a result of the analysis, it was proved that Bazarov is a nihilist, presenting in one form a cross-section of nihilist behaviors, consistent with European and Russian definitions of this trend. In the course of the considerations, a strong influence of Romanticism was also noticed, which is reflected in the actions of Eugene Bazarov.
