Human trafficking as an international problem

Tytułem niniejszej pracy jest „Handel ludźmi jako problem międzynarodowy”. Niniejsza praca skupia się na analizie handlu ludźmi jako poważnego problemu społecznego i międzynarodowego. Handel ludźmi jest jednym z najbardziej aktualnych problemów naszych czasów. Przez wieki i na przestrzeni różnych epok, niewolnictwo istniało w różnych formach. Współpraca państw w zwalczaniu handlu ludźmi nabrała nowego znaczenia. Problem handlu ludźmi nie może być rozwiązany na poziomie jednego kraju: nowe wyzwania i zagrożenia wymagają konsolidacji – zarówno wysiłków instytucji na poziomie państwowym, jak i społeczności międzynarodowej. Obecna międzynarodowa rzeczywistość prawna charakteryzuje się aktywną walką przeciwko rażącym naruszeniom podstawowych praw i wolności człowieka. Celem pracy licencjackiej jest zgłębienie różnych aspektów handlu ludźmi, przyczyn, skali problemu, skutków oraz działań podejmowanych w celu przeciwdziałania handlowi ludźmi. We wstępie pracy licencjackiej podkreślono aktualność poruszonego tematu. Oprócz tego zawiera on cel pracy, zakres badania, metodykę badawczą i strukturę pracy.Niniejsza praca jest podzielona na trzy rozdziały. Rozdział pierwszy skupia się na pojęciu niewolnictwa oraz ewolucji handlu ludźmi od czasów starożytnych do współczesnych. Co więcej, ten rozdział kończy się opisaniem pierwszych inicjatyw w kierunku zniesienia niewolnictwa. W rozdziale drugim jest mowa o prawno-międzynarodowych uregulowaniach mających na celu zakaz handlu ludźmi. Omówione są kluczowe dokumenty prawne oraz działalność takich międzynarodowych organizacji, jak : Rada Europy, Organizacja Narodów Zjednoczonych oraz NATO. Oprócz tego, przedstawiona jest strategia Unii Europejskiej na rzecz zwalczania handlu ludźmi. W kolejnym rozdziale skupia się na najważniejszych ścieżkach handlu ludźmi. Wykorzystano raport Stanów Zjednoczonych „Trafficking in Persons Report” z 2022 r. w celu lepszego zrozumienia problemu i poszerzenia wiedzy w tym zakresie. Omawiane są strategie w celu ochrony potencjanych ofiar.W zakończeniu są zamieszczone wnioski i rekomendacje dotyczące dalszych działań w zakresie zwalczania handlu ludźmi.Praca podkreśla potrzebę dalszych badań i współpracy międzynarodowej w celu skutecznego zwalczania tego procederu oraz ochrony ofiar.

The title of this thesis is 'Human trafficking as an international problem'. This thesis focuses on the analysis of human trafficking as a serious social and international problem. Human trafficking is one of the most topical issues of our time. Throughout the centuries and across different eras, slavery has existed in various forms. The cooperation of states in combating human trafficking has taken on a new importance. The problem of human trafficking cannot be solved at the level of a single country: the new challenges and threats require consolidation - both of the efforts of state-level institutions and of the international community. The current international legal reality is characterised by an active struggle against gross violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms. The aim of the Bachelor's thesis is to explore various aspects of human trafficking, the causes, the scale of the problem, the consequences and the measures taken to counter human trafficking. The introduction of the bachelor thesis emphasises the topicality of the topic addressed. In addition, it includes the purpose of the thesis, the scope of the study, the research methodology and the structure of the thesis.This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the concept of slavery and the evolution of human trafficking from ancient to modern times. Moreover, this chapter concludes by describing the first initiatives towards the abolition of slavery. Chapter two deals with legal and international regulations aimed at prohibiting human trafficking. It discusses key legal documents and the activities of such international organisations as : Council of Europe, United Nations and NATO. In addition, the European Union's strategy against trafficking in human beings is presented. The next chapter focuses on the most important pathways of trafficking in human beings. The United States' Trafficking in Persons Report 2022 is used to better understand the problem and enhance knowledge in this area. Strategies to protect potential victims are discussed.Conclusions and recommendations for further action to combat trafficking in persons are provided in the conclusion.The work highlights the need for further research and international cooperation to effectively combat trafficking and protect victims.
