The comparison of the depiction of blood trade in the works "Dream of Ding Village" by Yan Lianke and "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant" by Yu Hua

Celem niniejszej pracy jest znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie czy istnieje różnica w przedstawieniu handlu krwią między utworami „Sen wioski Ding” Yan Lianke oraz „Kroniki sprzedawcy krwi” Yu Hua. W pierwszym rozdziale przedstawiono historię handlu krwią w Chinach oraz jego skutki. Opisano również nastawienie Chińczyków do krwiodawstwa. Następny rozdział poświęcono na biografie Yan Lianke i Yu Hua oraz streszczono omawiane w pracy utwory. W ostatnim rozdziale ma miejsce analiza, w której porównano obie powieści na trzech różnych płaszczyznach – czasie i miejscu akcji, podejściu bohaterów do sprzedaży krwi oraz funkcjonowaniu handlu krwią w utworach.

The aim of this thesis is to answer the question of whether there is a difference in the portrayal of blood trade between Yan Lianke's "Dream of Ding Village" and Yu Hua's "Chronicle of a Blood Merchant". The first chapter presents the history of the blood trade in China and its consequences. Chinese attitudes towards blood donation are also described. The next chapter is devoted to the biographies of Yan Lianke and Yu Hua and provides a summary of the works discussed in the thesis. In the final chapter, an analysis takes place, comparing the two novels on three different aspects - the time and place of the plot, the characters' attitudes towards blood selling and the functioning of blood trade in the works.
