The use of dogs in uniformed services in selected European countries

Praca została poświęcona analizie wykorzystaniu psów w służbach mundurowych w wybranych państwach europejskich. Skupiono się na omówieniu regulacji dotyczących tego zagadnienia w Polsce, Czechach oraz Niemczech. Praca składa się z trzech rozdziałów. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera ogólne informacje dotyczące psów służbowych. W pierwszej części drugiego rozdziału zostaną omówione konkretne akty prawne, które regulują wykorzystanie psów służbowych w różnych służbach, takich jak policja, straż graniczna czy straż pożarna w Polsce. W drugiej części drugiego rozdziału skupiono się na omówieniu nowelizacji ustawy, która wprowadziła „psią emeryturę” oraz percepcji polskiego społeczeństwa wobec tej zmiany. Natomiast w trzecim rozdziale skupiono się na analizie wykorzystania psów służbowych oraz uregulowań z nimi związanych w Czechach i Niemczech.

This paper is devoted to the analysis of the use of dogs in uniformed services in selected European countries. It focuses on discussing the regulations on this issue in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. The paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter presents general information about service dogs and their characteristics. The first part of the second chapter contains the analysis of the legislation that regulates the use of service dogs in various services such as the police, border guards and fire department in Poland. The second part of the second chapter focuses on a discussion of the amendment to the law that introduced the so-called 'dog pension' and the perception of Polish society towards this change. The third chapter focuses on the analysis of the use of service dogs and the regulations related to them in the Czech Republic and Germany.
