Historical monument : the need to improve legal solutions and the necessity of recognition as a monument to the history of Polish noble (landed) mansions

The article analyzes the institution of a historical monument from alegal perspective, especially with regard to the current legal regulations concerning a historical monument. Moreover, postulates regarding the optimization of the statutory regulations of the legal institution of the historical monument were presented, with particular emphasis on, inter alia, the issue of the procedure of submitting real estate claiming to be recognized as a historical monument, local spatial development plan, the consequences of deleting the object from the register of monuments or repealing a resolution on the establishment of a cultural park, the role of the National Heritage Institute, financing the procedure for recognizing a historical monument, categorizing historical monuments, obligations and rights of the owners and history monument users, history monument management. The role of popularization of historical monuments by social organizations, in particular by PTTK, as well as the need to recognize the history of Polish noble (landed) mansions as a monument was also indicated.
