Old prints acquired for the Czartoryski Library from the Leżajsk St. Bernardine Monastery according to 1875 inventory

Biblioteka Książąt Czartoryskich to jeden z najcenniejszych zasobów dziedzictwa kultury rękopiśmiennej i drukarskiej, tworzony przez pokolenia, naznaczony dziejami kraju i historią rodu. Jednym z miejsc jej przechowywania i pomnażania był pałac w Sieniawie. To tam, dzięki działalności Erwina Rödla, trafiły rękopisy i stare druki z leżajskiej librarii oo. Bernardynów. Artykuł przybliża część owych nabytków – przywiezionych przez książkołapa i spisanych 25 kwietnia 1875 r. Wykaz zawiera informacje o trzech rękopisach i 115 tytułach druków, z czego w obecnym zasobie udało się odnaleźć większość, a potwierdzić proweniencję bernardyńską w dziewięciu.

The library of the Czartoryski Princes is one of the most valuable resources of culture heritage manuscripts and prints, created over generations, marked by the history of the country and the history of the family. One of the places where it was stored and multiplied was the palace in Sieniawa, where manuscripts and old prints from the Leżajsk-based Bernardine Fathers library found their way, thanks to the activities of Erwin Rödel. The article presents a part of these resources – brought by a book acquisitor and recorded in the inventory on 25 April 1875. The list contains information on three manuscripts and 115 print titles, the majority of which have been found in the present collection, while Bernardine provenance has been confirmed in nine.
