Celem pracy jest analiza reakcji arabskiej prasy na zajęcie starożytnego, syryjskiego miasta Palmyra przez tak zwane Państwo Islamskie oraz na działania organizacji w tym miejscu. Zbadano, czy dzienniki z różnych części świata arabskiego potępiają niszczenie dziedzictwa kulturowego przez ISIS. Zebrany materiał pochodzi z trzech gazet z Egiptu, Syrii i Arabii Saudyjskiej (al-ʼAhrām, al-Ba'ṯ, ar-Riyāḍ).
The aim of the thesis is the analysis of reaction of the Arab press to the takeover of ancient, Syrian city of Palmyra by the so-called Islamic State and the analysis of its actions there. This work has examined whether newspapers from different parts of the Arab world condemn destruction of cultural heritage which has been done by ISIS. Gathered material comes from three newspapers from Egypt, Syria and Saudi Arabia (al-ʼAhrām, al-Ba'ṯ, ar-Riyāḍ).
