Niniejsza praca magisterska składa się z czterech rozdziałów, wstępu oraz podsumowania, które kończy rozważania na temat wpływu matki na życie głównej bohaterki powieści.Pierwszy rozdział ma na celu wprowadzenie do teoretycznych zagadnień dotyczących biografii i feministycznej twórczości Elfriede Jelinek. W tym rozdziale zostaje zaprezentowana biografia pisarki w kontekście tematu pracy. Autor wskazuje na podobieństwa w życiorysie Elfriede Jelinek i głównej bohaterki na podstawie odpowiednich fragmentów powieści. Ponadto analizuje i przedstawia zdanie Jelinek na temat feminizmu oraz stara się wyjaśnić to pojęcie w kontekście tematu pracy. Drugi rozdział przedstawiony jest w formie tabeli i ułatwia zrozumienie fabuły powieści. Tabela składa się z 11 części i została sporządzona według struktury niniejszej pracy, nie powieści. Można w niej znaleźć protagonistów biorących udział w poszczególnych scenach oraz strony (w powieści), jak i czas (w adaptacji filmowej) tych sekwencji. W tabeli przedstawiono tylko te sceny z powieści i adaptacji filmowej, które są szerzej analizowane w niniejszej pracy.Rozdział trzeci pod tytułem: „Niezdrowa relacja matki z córką i jej wpływ na seksualność Eriki. Porównanie motywów powieści z adaptacją filmową” ma na celu analizę relacji między matką a córką. Aby lepiej zrozumieć tę skomplikowaną relację, rozdział składa się z dwóch podrozdziałów: „Perspektywa matki Eriki” oraz „Perspektywa Eriki”. Autor analizuje i wyjaśnia wpływ matki na bohaterkę i jej decyzje oraz jej życie, jak i seksualność. Poszczególne fragmenty powieści są analizowane równocześnie z tymi z adaptacji filmowej. Rozdział czwarty pod tytułem: „Rozwój relacji nauczycielki i ucznia w świetle wychowania bohaterki przez matkę. Porównanie motywów powieści z adaptacją filmową” ma na celu analizę relacji między Eriką i Klemmerem w kontekście wychowania bohaterki przez matkę. Rozdział obejmuje dwie perspektywy: Klemmera oraz Eriki. Autor analizuje poszczególne fragmenty powieści paralelnie z tymi z adaptacji filmowej.

This thesis consists of four chapters, an introduction and a conclusion which concludes the consideration of the influence of the mother on the life of the main character of the novel.The first chapter aims to introduce the theoretical issues concerning Elfriede Jelinek’s biography and feminist work. In this chapter, the biography of the writer is presented in the context of the topic of the thesis. The author points out the similarities in the biography of Elfriede Jelinek and the main character on the basis of relevant passages from the novel. Moreover, he analyses and presents Jelinek’s opinion on feminism and tries to explain this concept in the context of the topic of the thesis. The second chapter is presented in the form of a table which makes it easier to understand the plot of the novel. The table consists of 11 parts and has been drawn up according to the structure of this thesis, not of the novel. It includes main characters that take part in each scene and the pages (in the novel) as well as the time (in the film adaptation) of these sequences. The table shows only those scenes from the novel and the film adaptation that are more extensively analysed in this thesis.Chapter three: “The unhealthy mother-daughter relationship and its impact on Erika’s sexuality. A comparison between the motifs of the novel and the film adaptation” aims to analyse the relationship between mother and daughter. To better understand this complex relationship, the chapter consists of two subsections: “Erika’s mother’s perspective” and “Erika’s perspective”. The author analyses and explains the influence of the mother on the main character and her decisions and her life as well as her sexuality. Individual passages from the novel are analysed simultaneously with those from the film adaptation. The fourth chapter: “The development of the teacher-student relationship in the light of the protagonist’s upbringing by her mother. A comparison of the motifs of the novel and the film adaptation” aims to analyse the relationship between Erika and Klemmer in the context of the heroine’s upbringing by her mother. The chapter covers two perspectives: Klemmer’s and Erika’s. The author analyses particular fragments of the novel in parallel with those from the film adaptation.

Die vorliegende Magisterarbeit setzt sich zum Ziel, die Mutter-Tochter-Beziehung und ihre Konsequenzen auf das Leben der Protagonistin zu erläutern. Es wird somit die Frage gestellt, in welchem Maße die Art und Weise der mütterlichen Erziehung das Leben der Protagonistin beeinflusst. Und wie wurde dies in der Verfilmung von Michael Haneke dargestellt?Das erste Kapitel der Arbeit soll eine Einführung in die theoretischen Fragen aus dem Bereich Lebenslauf und feministisches Schaffen von Elfriede Jelinek geben. In diesem Kapitel wird die Biografie der Schriftstellerin im Lichte des Themas der Arbeit dargestellt. Es wurden Passagen aus dem Roman genannt, die Ähnlichkeiten zwischen dem Leben der Protagonistin und der Schriftstellerin bestätigen. Weiterhin wurde die feministische Orientierung der Autorin dargestellt und analysiert. Das zweite Kapitel wird in Form einer Tabelle gebracht und erleichtert das Verständnis der Handlung des Romans sowie der Verfilmung. Die Tabelle besteht aus 11 Teilen und wird nach der Struktur der folgenden Arbeit, nicht des Romans geordnet. Sie enthält Protagonisten, die an einzelnen Szenen teilnehmen und Seiten (bei dem Roman) sowie die Zeit (bei der Verfilmung) dieser Sequenzen. In der Tabelle wurden nur diejenigen Szenen aus dem Roman und der Verfilmung gebracht, die in der folgenden Arbeit breiter analysiert wurden. Das dritte Kapitel unter dem Titel: „Ungesunde Mutter-Tochter-Symbiose und ihre Auswirkungen auf das Erikas Sexualität. Vergleich der Motive im Roman mit der Verfilmung“ setzt sich zum Ziel, die Beziehung zwischen der Mutter und ihrer Tochter zu analysieren. Um diese verwickelte Beziehung besser zu verstehen, besteht das Kapitel aus zwei Unterkapiteln, und zwar: „Erikas Mutter Perspektive“ und „Erikas Perspektive“. Das Kapitel analysiert und erläutert den Einfluss der Mutter auf Protagonistin, sowie auf ihre Entscheidungen, ihr Leben und ihre Sexualität. Parallel werden einzelne Passagen aus dem Roman und der Verfilmung analysiert. Das vierte Kapitel unter dem Titel: „Entwicklung der Lehrerin-Schüler-Beziehung im Lichte der Erziehung der Protagonistin durch ihre Mutter. Vergleich der Motive im Roman mit der Verfilmung“ setzt sich zum Ziel, die Beziehung zwischen Erika und Klemmer im Kontext der Erziehung der Protagonistin durch ihre Mutter näher zu analysieren. Das Kapitel bezieht sich auf zwei Perspektiven: Klemmers und Erikas. Auch hier werden parallel einzelne Passagen aus dem Roman und der Verfilmung besprochen.
