The image of brexit before Great Britain officially left the European Union structures in Polish television media - TVP and TVN

Niniejsza praca skupia się na problematyce dotyczącej zjawiska brexitu oraz sposobie, w jaki brexit został przedstawiony w polskich mediach telewizyjnych – TVP oraz TVN. Media te są kluczowe dla polskiej telewizji, dlatego też właśnie one zostaną poddane analizie. Praca została podzielona na trzy rozdziały. W pierwszym rozdziale przybliżone zostanie pojęcie brexitu oraz omówione będą dwa referenda, które miały miejsce w Wielkiej Brytanii w 1975 oraz 2016 roku. Druga część pracy charakteryzuje TVP (telewizję publiczną) oraz przedstawia sposób w jaki brexit został ukazany w programie „Wiadomości” TVP. W ostatnim rozdziale zostanie omówiona rola TVN (telewizji prywatnej) z uwzględnieniem programu „Fakty” TVN. W tej części pracy również zostanie przedstawiony oraz omówiony sposób w jaki ukazano brexit. Celem pracy jest sprawdzenie hipotezy, która zakłada, że obraz brexitu w obydwóch mediach telewizyjnych będzie znacząco się od siebie różnił.

This paper focuses on the brexit issues and the way brexit was presented in the Polish television media - TVP and TVN. These media are crucial for Polish television, which is why they will be analyzed. The bachelor’s thesis has been divided into three chapters. The first chapter will introduce the concept of brexit and discuss two referendums that took place in Great Britain in 1975 and 2016. The second part of the paper describes TVP (public television) and presents how brexit was shown in the TVP program "Wiadomości". The last chapter will discuss the role of TVN (private television), including TVN's "Fakty" program. This part of the dissertation will also present and discuss how brexit was shown. The aim of the study is to test the hypothesis that the image of brexit in the two TV media will be significantly different from each other.
