Niniejsza monografia ma na celu analizę wątków filozoficzno- religijnych występujących w serii "Naruto" autorstwa Masashi Kishimoto w kontekście tego, co mogą one zdradzić na temat współczesnego społeczeństwa japońskiego. Do badanych nurtów zaliczają się m. in. buddyzm, shinto, konfucjanizm. Głównym celem pracy tymczasem jest wykazanie, iż choć anime i manga uznawane są za tzw. dzieła kultury masowej, nie ograniczają się jedynie do czystej komercji, a niosą w sobie głębsze przesłanie na temat świata i kultury, w której powstają.

This monograph aims to analyse the philosophical and religious strands found in the "Naruto" series by Masashi Kishimoto in the context of what they might reveal about contemporary Japanese society. The strands examined include Buddhism, Shinto, Confucianism, among others. The main he aim of this paper is to show that although anime and manga are considered to be so-called works of mass culture, they are not limited to pure commercialism, but carry a deeper message about the world and the culture in which they are created.
