“I pronounce you husband and husband”. Humanistic same-sex marriage ceremonies in Poland - motivations of couples.

Małżeństwa jednopłciowe w Polsce nadal pozostają w sferze nierozpoznania prawnego jak i społecznego. Nie da się jednak zaprzeczyć, że co raz więcej par homoseksualnych decyduje się na ten krok, nie rzadko uzupełniając go o regulacje prawne w oparciu o umowę notarialną. Celem niniejszej pracy jest ukazanie motywacji par jednopłciowych decydujących się na humanistyczną ceremonię ślubu w Polsce. W pierwszym rozdziale zarysowano prawną i społeczną sytuację par jednopłciowych w Polsce, co wydaje się niezbędne do poznania kontekstu w jakim odbywają się ceremonie ślubów jednopłciowych. Następnie autor skupia się na charakterystyce ślubu humanistycznego, ze względu na to, że aktualnie jest to najczęściej wybierana opcja odbycia ceremonii ślubnej przez par jednopłciowe w Polsce oraz że same ceremonie humanistyczne stanowią pewne novum w polskim kontekście. W ostatnim rozdziale dokonano opracowania zebranego przede wszystkim w oparciu o metodę wywiadu swobodnego materiału etnograficznego. W tej części ukazano, jak respondenci definiują małżeństwo jako takie. Następnie bazując na wyznaczonych na drodze analizy treści wywiadów czterech głównych kategoriach motywacji, zaprezentowano czynniki, które kierowały parami przy podejmowaniu decyzji o zorganizowaniu ceremonii ślubnej w Polsce.

Same-sex marriages in Poland still remain in the sphere of legal and social unrecognization. Although more often we hear information about the weddings of same-sex couples concluded in Poland, most often as part of humanistic ceremonies, this evnts still raises a lot of emotions and controversy. However, it cannot be denied that more and more homosexual couples decide to take this step, often supplementing it with legal regulations based on a notarial agreement.The aim of this study is to show the motivation of same-sex couples deciding to attend a humanistic wedding ceremony in Poland. The first chapter outlines the legal and social situation of homosexual couples in Poland, which seems necessary to understand the context in which same-sex marriage ceremonies take place. Next, the author focuses on the characteristics of a humanistic wedding, due to the fact that it is currently the most frequently chosen option for homosexual couples to hold a wedding ceremony in Poland and that the humanistic ceremonies themselves are a novelty in the Polish context. In the last chapter, an elaboration of ethnographic material collected mainly on the basis of the free-form interview method was prepared. This section shows how respondents define marriage as such. Then, based on the four main categories of motivation determined through the analysis of the content of the interviews, the factors that guided couples when making decisions about organizing a wedding ceremony in Poland were presented.
