Thanatopedagogy in the range of school education

Problematyka tanatologiczna jest obszarem, który stosunkowo rzadko znajduje odzwierciedlenie w edukacji formalnej w polskim systemie oświaty. Tanatopedagogika, w szerokim rozumieniu, jest subdyscypliną pedagogiczną, która podejmuje próbę kompensacji tychże braków mających znaczące konsekwencje dla podmiotów będących uczestnikami sytuacji dydaktyczno-wychowawczej. W pracy dyplomowej dokonałam przedstawienia teoretycznego tanatopedagogiki oraz pojęć z nią związanych. Poddałam analizie percepcję zjawiska śmierci przez dzieci w celu uzasadnienia zasadności podejmowania procesów mających na celu przekazywanie wiedzy i kształtowanie określonych umiejętności z zakresu problematyki tanatologicznej w polskich szkołach. Przeanalizowałam także kwestię uwarunkowań obecnego stanu metodycznego słabo przygotowanej kadry pedagogicznej w oparciu o badania, jak również wskazałam na implikacje tanatopedagogiki w zakresie edukacji, by poddać pod rozwagę potencjalne rozwiązania, które mogą przyczynić się do upowszechnienia tanatopedagogiki na gruncie edukacji szkolnej.

Thanatological issues are an area that is relatively rarely reflected in formal education in the Polish education system. Tanatopedagogy, broadly understood, is a pedagogical subdiscipline that attempts to compensate for these shortcomings, which have significant consequences for entities participating in the didactic and educational situation. In my diploma thesis, I presented the theoretical presentation of thanatopedagogy and related concepts. I analyzed the perception of the phenomenon of death by children in order to justify the legitimacy of undertaking processes aimed at transferring knowledge and shaping specific skills in the field of thanatology issues in Polish schools. I also analyzed the issue of the current methodological condition of the poorly prepared teaching staff based on research, as well as indicated the implications of thanatopedagogy in the field of education in order to consider potential solutions that may contribute to the popularization of thanatopedagogy in the field of school education.
