Commitment, relationship satisfaction and division of household labor in marriage and heterosexual cohabitations.

Inspiracją do powstania niniejszej pracy było poszukiwanie odpowiedzi na pytania o istnienie podobieństw i różnic w poziomie zaangażowania, ilości posiadanych zobowiązań oraz sposobie podziału obowiązków domowych pomiędzy małżonkami, a partnerami żyjącymi w nieformalnych związkach kohabitacyjnych. Ponadto podjęto próbę określenia czy poziom zadowolenia ze związku wiąże się z pozostawaniem w relacji zgodnej z profilem oczekiwań jednostki wobec związku intymnego. Ze względu na trwającą w trakcie prowadzenia badań do tego opracowania pandemię Covid-19, postawiono dodatkowe pytanie badawcze o pojawienie się zmian w relacjach partnerskich związanych z sytuacją epidemiologiczną. W badaniu wzięło udział 161 osób pozostających w związkach małżeńskich i kohabitacyjnych ze stażem od 1 roku do 35 lat. Poszczególne konstrukty zmierzono przy użyciu Kwestionariusza Zaangażowania Interpersonalnego (Stanley, Markman, 1992), Skali Satysfakcji ze Związku CSI-32 (Funk, Rogge, 2007) oraz Kwestionariusza do badania podziału obowiązków Bakiery i Wiśniewskiej (2018). Do pomiaru poziomu zobowiązań oraz określenia profilu oczekiwań wobec związku wykorzystano autorskie narzędzia. Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazały na istnienie różnic pomiędzy badanymi grupami: osoby kohabitujące charakteryzowały się niższym poziomem zaangażowania, mniejszą ilością posiadanych zobowiązań wobec partnera oraz bardziej partnerskim podziałem obowiązków niż małżonkowie. Nie potwierdzono występowania zależności między satysfakcją ze związku a zgodnością profilu oczekiwań z typem relacji. Stwierdzono istnienie zjawiska oddziaływania pandemii Covid-19 na związki intymne - ponad 43% badanych osób dostrzega zmiany w swojej relacji związane z okresem epidemii.

The aim of this study was to find answers to the questions about the existence of similarities and differences in the level of commitment, the amount of liabilities and the way of sharing household chores between married and informal cohabiting partners. Moreover, an attempt was made to determine whether the level of satisfaction with the relationship is related to remaining in a relationship consistent with the profile of the individual's expectations towards an intimate relationship. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic ongoing during the research, an additional research question was asked about the emergence of changes in partner relations related to the epidemiological situation. The study involved 161 married and cohabiting people from 1 to 35 years of experience. Individual constructs were measured using the Interpersonal Commitment Questionnaire (Stanley & Markman, 1992), The Couples Satisfaction Index CSI-32 (Funk & Rogge, 2007) and the Bakiera and Wiśniewska’s Questionnaire for the division of household chores (2018). Created for the purpose of the work tools were used to measure the level of liabilities and define the profile of expectations towards the relationship. The results of the research indicated the existence of differences between the studied groups: cohabiting persons were characterized by a lower level of commitment, a smaller amount of liabilities towards a partner and a more partnership division of duties than spouses. The relationship between satisfaction with the relationship and the compliance of the expectations profile with the type of relationship was not confirmed. The phenomenon of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on intimate relationships was found - over 43% of respondents noticed changes in their relationship related to the epidemic period.
