Selected issues of the right to die.

Rozważania niniejszej pracy dotyczą wybranej problematyki związanej z prawem do śmierci; eutanazji i samobójstwa. Przedstawię w niej literaturę przedmiotu w zakresie ich definicji, form oraz historii rozwoju na przestrzeni wieków- od starożytności do czasów współczesnych. Ewolucja poglądów, która poprzedza współczesny dyskurs, wymusza także szczególne uwzględnienie aspektów filozoficznych i religijnych w postaci skrótowego zapoznania z ideami niektórych filozofów oraz stosunku poszczególnych religii do zagadnienia. Podkreślony zostanie także temat regulacji prawnych Polski oraz państw wiodących w zakresie rozwiązań prawnych dotyczących prawa do śmierci.

The considerations of this work concern selected issues related to the right to die; euthanasia and suicide. I will present the literature on the subject in terms of definitions, forms and history of development over the centuries - from antiquity to modern times. The evolution of views, which precedes contemporary discourse, also forces a special consideration of philosophical and religious aspects in the form of a brief overview of the ideas of certain philosophers and the attitude of particular religions towards the issue. The subject of legal regulations of Poland and the leading countries in terms of legal solutions concerning the right to death will also be emphasised.
