Celem niniejszej pracy jest analiza komparatystyczna książki hiszpańskiego pisarza i filozofa Miguela de Unamuno „Por tierras de Portugal y de España” pod kątem opisanych w niej cech Portugalczyków i Hiszpanów oraz ich zgodności z kanonem twórczości pokolenia 98. Pierwszy rozdział skupia się na okolicznościach historycznych, kulturowych i literackich, z których wywiodło się pokolenie 98 i jego program. W rozdziale drugim omówieni zostali poszczególni reprezentanci pokolenia 98, wybrani zgodnie z obranymi kryteriami. Zostały omówione ich biografie, cechy stylistyczne i dzieła literackie. Rozdział trzeci został poświęcony Miguelowi de Unamuno, autorowi książki, na której opiera się analiza. Została przedstawiona jego biografia, wizja filozoficzna, charakterystyka jego literatury oraz jego związek z Portugalią. Na samym końcu zamieszczone zostało krótkie wprowadzenie do książki „Por tierras de Portugal y de España”. Rozdział poświęcony analizie jest podzielony na dwie części, przedstawiające cechy Portugalczyków i Hiszpanów, po których następuje właściwa analiza komparatystyczna oraz wnioski. Na podstawie zebranych materiałów oraz analizy można stwierdzić, że Unamuno posiada zdywersyfikowane podejście do obu krajów i nacji.

The objective of this thesis is a comparative analysis of a book of a Spanish writer and philosopher Miguel de Unamuno “Por tierras de Portugal y de España”, in particular, of the characteristics of Portuguese and Spaniards, and its concordance with the creation canon of the Generation of ’98. The first chapter presents historical, cultural and literary circumstances which created a base for a Generation of ’98 and its program. In the second chapter there are presented the members of the Generation, based on the established criteria, with their biographies, style features and works. The third chapter is dedicated to Miguel de Unamuno, the author o the book that is the base for the analysis, his biography, philosophical vision, literary characteristics and his relationship with Portugal. At the end, there’s a short introduction to “Por tierras de Portugal y de España”. The last chapter, dedicated to the analysis is divided in to parts, demonstrating the characteristics of Portuguese and Spaniards, followed by the main comparative analysis and conclusions. Based on the gathered material and the analysis made it can be assumed that Unamuno has a diversified vision of both countries and nations.

El objetivo de este trabajo es el análisis comparativo del libro de escritor y filósofo español Miguel de Unamuno “Por tierras de Portugal y de España”, las características de los portugueses y españoles, y su concordancia con el canon de creación de la Generación del 98 en específico. Capítulo primero se centra en los marcos históricos, culturales y literarias que definieron la Generación del 98 y sus objetivos literarios. En el capítulo segundo están presentados los representantes de la Generación, elegidos de acuerdo con los criterios establecidos. Se presentan sus biografías, el estilo y las obras clave. El capítulo tercero se centra en Miguel de Unamuno, el autor del libro que constituye la base del análisis, precisamente en su biografía, visión filosófica, su característica literaria y sus vínculos con Portugal. Al final aparece una corta introducción al libro “Por tierras de Portugal y de España”. El capítulo dedicado al análisis está dividido en dos partes en las que están descritas las características de los portugueses y españoles; luego tiene lugar el análisis exacto y las conclusiones. A base de los materiales recogidos y el análisis se puede suponer que Unamuno posee una visión diversificada de ambos países y naciones.
