Between Judaism and Christianity. Identity of Messianic Jews in Israel.

Tożsamość żydów mesjańskich w Izraelu" to praca opisująca tę część społeczności żydowskiej, która religijnie utożsamia się z judaizmem, jednocześnie wyznając, że Jezus Chrystus jest żydowskim mesjaszem. Taki charakter wyznania, pod względem religijnym sytuuje mesjańskich żydów zarówno jako wyznawców judaizmu oraz chrześcijaństwa. Tożsamość mesjańskich żydów w Izraelu jest kwestionowana przez resztę społeczności żydowskiej. Nierzadko żydzi, którzy wyznają Jezusa, przez inne odłamy judaizmu są zwyczajnie zaliczani do chrześcijan. Celem tej pracy było zbadanie, a następnie opisanie opinii i wzorców judaizmu mesjańskiego oraz innych wybranych odłamów judaizmu, np. judaizmu ortodoksyjnego. Analiza tożsamości żydów mesjańskich została zrobiona na postawie praktyki religijnej, doktryny oraz historii tego odłamu. Określenie definicji poszczególnych religii, jakimi są chrześcijaństwo czy judaizm, było względnie proste. Problemem w tej pracy okazało się być określenie tożsamości religijnej wyznawców judaizmu mesjańskiego.

Between Judaism and Christianity. The Identity of the Messianic Jews in Israel "is a work describing that part of the Jewish community that religiously identifies itself with Judaism, while professing that Jesus Christ is the Jewish messiah. This character of belief, in terms of religion, situates Messianic Jews both as adherents of Judaism and Christianity. Jews in Israel are questioned by the rest of the Jewish community. Often, Jews who profess Jesus are simply classified as Christians by other branches of Judaism. The purpose of this work was to investigate and then describe the views and patterns of Messianic Judaism and other selected branches of Judaism, such as Orthodox Judaism. The analysis of the identity of Messianic Jews was made on the basis of religious practice, doctrine and history of this faction. Determining the definition of individual religions, such as Christianity or Judaism, was relatively simple. The problem in this work turned out to be the definition of the religious identity of the followers of Messianic Judaism.
