DYSKURS I ARGUMENTACJA ANTYSZCZEPIONKOWCÓW NA GABIE I TWITTERZE.

Przedmiotem niniejszej pracy licencjackiej jest analiza dyskursu i argumentacji antyszczepionkowców na platformach społecznościowych Gab i Twitter. Autorka zdecydowała się podjąć ten temat z powodu rosnącej popularności ruchu antyszczepionkowego w Internecie i konsekwencji tegoż zjawiska dla zdrowia publicznego. Niestety nie powstało do tej pory wiele badań języka używanego przez antyszczepionkowców. W pierwszym rozdziale pracy autorka opisuje podstawy teorii perswazji i argumentacji. W tej sekcji zawarte są również tematy takie jak zastraszanie, ironia i dyskurs manipulacyjny. Następna część rozprawy skupia się na tle historycznym i społecznym ruchu antyszczepionkowego. W tej części autorka pokrywa również najpopularniejsze argumenty przeciw szczepieniom podawane przez antyszczepionkowców. Ostatni rozdział jest poświęcony analizie postów antyszczepionkowców, w tym najbardziej znaczących antyszczepionkowych influencerów. Z pomocą tego badania autorka chce odpowiedzieć, jakie są najpopularniejsze techniki perswazyjne i argumenty ruchu antyszczepionkowego na wyżej wymienionych platformach i co jest charakterystyczne w jego dyskursie.

The subject of the thesis is the analysis of the discourse and argumentation of anti-vaxxers on the social media platforms Gab and Twitter. The author decided to discuss this topic because of the growing popularity of the anti-vaccination movement online and the consequences of this phenomenon to public health. Sadly, there has not been enough research on the language used by anti-vaxxers. In the initial chapter, the author describes the basics of the theory of persuasion and argumentation. The topics such as fear appeals, irony, and manipulative discourse are also included in this section. The next part of the paper focuses on the historical and social background of the anti-vaccination movement. In this part, the author also covers the most popular arguments against vaccination advanced by this movement. The final chapter is dedicated to the analysis of posts of anti-vaxxers, including the most prominent anti-vaccination influencers. With the help of this study, the author wants to answer what the most popular persuasion techniques and arguments used by the anti-vaccination movement on the afore-mentioned platforms are and what is characteristic of its discourse.
