Criminological Aspects of the Prostitution Phenomenon

Rozważania zawarte w pracy skupiają się na kryminologicznych aspektach zjawiskaprostytucji. Autor przedstawił i poddał analizie definicje zjawiska prostytucji orazteorie dotyczące jego etiologii. Celem przedstawienia modelowych systemówprawnych w zakresie regulacji zjawiska prostytucji, analizie zostało poddaneustawodawstwo rosyjskie, niemieckie oraz łotewskie. W pracy opisano specyfikęzjawiska prostytucji w Polsce, w tym jej rys historyczny. Autor przedstawił takżerozważania na temat przestępstw okołoprostytucyjnych, które zostały zakończoneanalizą statystyk policyjnych i sądowych. W pracy zawarto analizę współczesnychaspektów związanych ze zjawiskiem prostytucji, takich jak m.in sponsoring orazprostytucja internetowa. Celem pracy było kompleksowe opisanie zjawiskaprostytucji w ujęciu kryminologicznym - udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie czym tozjawisko jest, czym jest powodowane, jakie przybiera formy oraz jak reaguje na niespołeczeństwo. Wynikiem analiz przeprowadzonych przez autora były rozważaniade lege ferenda na temat możliwych sposobów uregulowania prostytucji w polskimustawodawstwie.

The considerations included in the thesis focus on criminological aspects of the prostitutionphenomenon. The author presented and analysed definitions of the phenomenon ofprostitution and theories concerning its etiology. In order to present model legal systems inthe field of prostitution regulation, Russian, German and Latvian legislation were analysed.The thesis describes the specificity of the phenomenon of prostitution in Poland, includingits historical outline. The author also presented considerations on prostitution-relatedcrimes, which were concluded with the analysis of police and court statistics. The thesiscontains an analysis of contemporary aspects related to the phenomenon of prostitution,such as, sponsorship and Internet prostitution. The aim of the thesis was tocomprehensively describe the phenomenon of prostitution from a criminological point ofview - to answer the question what this phenomenon is, what it is caused by, what forms ittakes and how society reacts to it. The analyses carried out by the author resulted in de legeferenda considerations on possible ways of regulating prostitution in Polish legislation.
