"When it was closed, there was silence." Match factory in Czechowice-Dziedzice in the context of transformational changes and liquidation of the plant

Celem pracy jest przyjrzenie się i próba przedstawienia sposobów, w jakich obraz czy narracja o fabryce zapałek w Czechowicach-Dziedzicach były i są konstruowane w obliczu odczuwalnych zmian transformacyjnych (prywatyzacja) czy związanych bezpośrednio z momentem likwidacji zakładu. W pracy zwracam uwagę, w jaki sposób z perspektywy zarówno indywidualnej jak i wspólnotowej były i są odbierane zmiany.  Kluczowymi zagadnieniami, które problematyzuję w pracy: 1) kwestie nieobecności jako przestrzeni refleksyjnej wobec zmian; 2) problematyzacja dyskursu transformacyjnego względem ucieleśnionego doświadczenia; 3) sposoby reagowania, działania, konstruowania swojej sprawczości wobec zaistniałych zmian. W pracy staram się wykazać procesualność zależności wyobrażeń i zmian, jakie zachodziły.

The purpose of my thesis is to look at and try to present the ways in which the image or narrative about the match factory in Czechowice-Dziedzice was and is constructed in the face of perceptible transformational changes (privatization) or directly related to the moment of the factory's liquidation. In the work, I pay attention to how changes have been and are perceived from both individual and community perspectives. The key issues that I problematize: 1) the issue of absence as a space for reflection in the face of changes; 2) problematisation of the transformational discourse in relation to embodied experience; 3) ways of reacting, acting, constructing one's agency in the face of the changes that have occurred. In my work, I try to show the processuality of the dependence of ideas and changes that took place.
