Abstract in English

The subject of the following article centers around the issue of postmemory (a term by M. Hirsch) basing on "Memory is our home" (Stuttgart 2015), an autobiographical work written by Suzanna Eibuszyc, who follows her relatives’ war-centered memories searching not only for her roots but also for her own narrative. The main aim is both to present the experience of a representative of "the generation after" in the context of the phenomenon of postmemory and to analyze the effect of transmitted trauma and on next generation representatives’ narrative and identity.
