The aim of the article was to present the issues of consistency in relation to the narrative abilities of individuals with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Language disorders are one of the main symptoms of schizophrenia, a note of which is one of the elements of an accurate diagnosis. However, there is a lack of linguistic research showing the relationship of coherence and cohesion with difficulties in organizing thoughts by schizophrenic patients. The literature review proved that the statements of these people are characterized by a lower degree of narrative expression, are lexically poorer and are often incomprehensible. Interrupted and psychotic statements of patients usually leave the impression of unfinished and unrealized messages, because due to distortions there is no agreement between the interlocutors.
