Niniejsza praca została poświęcona zmianie, która nastąpiło w pojmowaniu przez ludzi magii, szczególnie nekromancji w późnym średniowieczu, w Europie Zachodniej. Uwzględniono w niej również konsekwencje owej ewolucji w myśleniu społecznym.Praca dzieli się na cztery rozdziały. W pierwszym z nich przedstawiono średniowieczne rozumienie magii oraz jej rodzaje. W kolejnym omówiono pogląd Kościoła katolickiego na tę kwestię i pojmowanie parania się magią jako grzechu głupoty, jak również wyjaśniono pojęcie magii chrześcijańskiej. W trzecim rozdziale zostało przedstawione społeczne i polityczne tło zmiany w postrzeganiu diabła i magii oraz ukazano ewolucję jej społecznego postrzegania w XIII i na początku XIV wieku. W kolejnym została natomiast omówiona zmiana stosunku Kościoła katolickiego do nekromancji polegająca na uznaniu jej za herezję.Taki układ pozwala całościowo rozważyć przedmiot analizy, który jest ciekawym i istotnym zagadnieniem historii późnego średniowiecza..

The thesis is focus on the change that took place in people's understanding of magic, especially necromancy, in the late Middle Ages in Western Europe. It also take into account the consequences of this evolution in social thinking.The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first one presents the medieval understanding of magic and its types. The next chapter discusses the Catholic Church's view of the matter and its understanding od magis as a sin of stupidity, and explains the concept of Christian magic. The third chapter presents the social and political background of the change in the perception of the devil and magic, and shows the evolution of its social perception in the 13th and early 14th centuries. The next one discusses the change in the attitude of the Catholic Church to necromancy by considering it as heresy. This arrangment allows us to comprehensively consider the subject of analysis, which is an interesting and important issue in the history of the late Middle Ages.
