Norway's policy towards the Saami

Niniejsza praca poświęcona jest asymilacji rdzennej ludności Saamów z ludnością i kulturą narodów zamieszkujących obecną Skandynawię. Został opisany w niej wpływ polityki asymilacyjnej na ewolucję prawa ochrony mniejszości Saamów oraz próba odpowiedzi na pytanie czy polityka społeczna Norwegii jest wzorcowym przykładem polityki kraju dbającego o prawa mniejszości Saamów na tle innych krajów Skandynawskich. Pierwszy rozdział zawiera podstawowe informacje o Saamach, ich kulturze, historii i terenach przez nich zamieszkiwanych. W drugim rozdziale opisane zostały wydarzenia prowadzące do uregulowania stosunków między państwem, a rdzenną ludnością Saamów, na przykładzie Saamów norweskich. Wspomniano o znaczeniu duchowym tych sytuacji w społeczności Saamów oraz o aspekcie stosunków organizacji ponadpaństwowych z mniejszością saamską. Trzeci i ostatni rozdział zawiera porównanie uzyskanych przez Saamów praw mniejszości na terenach państw Skandynawskich, w celu ustalenia, który z krajów oferuje najlepsze warunki dla mniejszości rdzennych.

This study is devoted to the assimilation of the indigenous Sami people with the population and culture of the nations inhabiting present-day Scandinavia. It describes the impact of the assimilation policy on the evolution of the law of protection of the Saami minority and attempts to answer a question whether Norway, applying its social policy, is a model example of a country that cares for the rights of the Sami minority compared to other Scandinavian countries. The first chapter contains basic information about the Saami, their culture, history and the areas they inhabit. The second chapter describes the events leading to the regulation of relations between the state and the indigenous Sami people, using the example of the Norwegian Sami. The spiritual significance of these situations in the Sami community and the aspect of transnational organizations' relations with the Saami people were also mentioned. The third chapter is a comparative description of minority rights obtained by the Saami people in the territories of Scandinavian countries to determine which country offers the best conditions for indigenous minorities.
