Tematem artykułu są nowomedialne sposoby wyrażania emocji w mediach społecznościowych przybierające formę GIF-ów i memów, a będące cytatami z powszechnie znanych filmów, animacji, utworów muzycznych i innych tekstów popkultury. Ponadto nawiązania popkulturowe tworzą poczucie wspólnotowości i zapewniają dodatkową satysfakcję z rozpoznania nawiązań intertekstualnych.
The article addresses the new media ways of expressing emotions in social media which take the form of gifs and memes, and which are the quotes from famous films, animations, songs and other texts of pop culture. The statements that are discussed most frequently appear as comments or self-comments, and they are supposed to express the modal-emotional attitude of the author towards the posted content. This genre of new media communication often includes elements of comedy based on mimicry in the form of hyperbolization, exaggeration or parody. The aim of the article is to indicate the sources of the attractiveness of this element of communication. It is undoubtedly linked to the ludic nature of the communicative environment being studied, but it is also related to the specific character of human relationships in the media-intermediated communication – it enables expressing emotions safely by putting them in the comic inverted comas, thus not threatening the individual with exposing oneself.
