Causes and consequences of occupational stress in the group of drivers and tram drivers on the example of MPK S.A. in Cracow

W pracy przedstawiono przegląd definicji stresu i stresu organizacyjnego w różnych ujęciach w literaturze. Zaprezentowano szereg czynników przyczyniających się do zjawiska wypalenia zawodowego oraz wskazówki jak temu zjawisku zapobiegać. Opierając się na przykładzie grupy zawodowej jaką stanowią prowadzący pojazdy komunikacji miejskiej tj. tramwaje i autobusy dokonano analizy przyczyn stresu w ich pracy. Losowo wybrana grupa pracowników MPK S.A. w Krakowie wzięła udział w badaniu, wypełniając m.in Kwestionariusz Obszarów Życia Zawodowego, zaadoptowaną wersję kwestionariusza MBI-GS autorstwa Ch. Maslach). Na podstawie wyników badań ustalono, że zjawisko wypalenia zawodowego jest obecne wśród wyżej wymienionej grupy w stopniu umiarkowanym, głównie wśród wieloletnich pracowników.

The work presents an overview of the definition of stress and organizational stress in various approaches in literature. A number of factors contributing to the phenomenon of occupational burnout and tips on how to prevent this phenomenon are presented. Basing on the example of a professional group consisting of people operating public transport vehicles, i.e. trams and buses, the analysis of the causes of occupational stress was performed. A randomly selected group of employees of MPK S.A. in Krakow took part in the study and filled, among others, the Areas of Worklife Survey, an adapted version of the MBI-GS questionnaire by Ch. Maslach). Based on the results of the research, it was found that the phenomenon of occupational burnout is moderate in the above-mentioned group, and concerns mainly employees that worked in the area for many years.
