Tematem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie wizerunków Filipa Orleańskiego w popkulturze, na przykładzie filmu "Vatel" i serialu "Versailles". Celem jest analiza zmiany sposobów jego przedstawienia na przestrzeni piętnastu lat, między premierami obydwu wymienionych tekstów kultury. Przedstawiony zostanie rys historyczny ukazujący życie Filipa z naciskiem na wątek homoseksualności i transpłciowości. Zostaną przedstawione jego relacje ze starszym bratem, Ludwikiem XIV, jak również z jego kochankiem, Kawalerem Lotaryńskim. Omówione zostaje także jego małżeństwo z Henrietą Angielską i Elżbietą Charlottą von Wittelsbach. W drugim rozdziale zostaje przedstawiona historia badań nad seksualnością człowieka od XIX do XX wieku, z uwzględnieniem opracowań medycznych. Scharakteryzowane zostaje także słownictwo jakim określano osoby homoseksualne i transpłciowe, a także jego geneza, głównie biblijna i mitologiczna. Trzeci rozdział zawiera analizę kulturoznawczą filmu "Vatel" oraz serialu "Versailles", gdzie zostaje porównany sposób przedstawiania Filipa Orleańskiego w ciągu piętnastu lat pomiędzy premierami. Pokazane jest jakie zmiany dokonały się w budowaniu obrazu osoby homoseksualnej w wybranych tekstach kultury. "Vatel" przedstawia Filipa w sposób jednoznacznie negatywny, już na samym zestawiając jego orientację seksualną z pedofilią poprzez scenę poszukiwań chłopca do orszaku. Pominięty zostaje również wątek jego drugiego małżeństwa oraz relacji z bratem. W serialu "Versailles" Filip zostaje przedstawiony bez ukazywania szkodliwych uprzedzeń. Twórcy na samym początku decydują się na zobrazowanie kilku aspektów życia Filipa, starając się zachować zgodność historyczną i zgłębić jego osobowość. Porównanie wykazuje ogromną zmianę jaka się dokonała w sposobie przedstawiania Filipa - od postaci zdegenerowanej, będącej pedofilem do człowieka posiadającego liczne zalety, ale także słabości, kochającego swojego partnera, ale też pełnego frustracji z powodu życia w cieniu starszego brata.

The theme of this work is presentation of image of Philippe D'Orleans in popculture based on the movie "Vatel" and TV show "Versailles". The aim is to analyze changes in the way he is presented within fifteen years between premiere both text of culture. Presented historical features about life of Philippe D'Orleans with a focus on his homosexuality and transgender. It described relationship with his older brother, Louis XIV and his lover Chevalier de Lorraine. His marriage with Henrieta of England and Elizabeth Charlotte von Wittelsbach is also described. Second part of the work is about history of human sexuality studies from 19th century to 20th century, including medical research. The vocabulary of homosexual and transgender people, as well as its origins, biblical and mythological, is also characterized. The third chapter contains the cultural-research tools of the movie "Vatel" and the series "Versailles", where the way Philippe D'Orleans was portrayed during the fifteen years between the premieres is compared. It showed what changes were made in building the image of a homosexual person in selected text of culture. "Vatel" presents Philippe in an unequivocally negative way, putting togheter his sexual orientation with paedophilia through the scene of the searching the boy for his court. The theme of his second marriage and relationship with his older brother is also omitted. In the series "Versailles" Philippe is shown without harmful prejudices. The creators decide at the very beginning to depict several aspects of Philippe's life, trying to preserve the historical harmony and to explore his personality. A comparison of the enormous change that has been taken place in the way Philippe is portrayed - from a degenerate character who is paedophile to a man with qualities but also weaknesses, a loving partner, but also full of frustration about living in the shadow of an older brother.
