From the state of nature to the world republic - European Union and political philosophy of Immanuel Kant

Praca dotyczy najbardziej istotnych aspektów filozofii politycznej Immanuela Kanta takich jak projekt wiecznego pokoju czy jego poglądy na państwo czy stan natury. Praca stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, jak zareagowałby Kant na naturę polityczną dzisiejszego świata. W pracy analizowane są m.in związki między kantowską metafizyką a filozofią polityczną, jego filozofia prawa, etyka, percepcja instytucji państwa i przede wszystkim projekt wiecznego pokoju. Bardzo istotną częścią jest też analiza fenomenu integracji europejskiej i Unii Europejskiej z perspektywy Immanuela Kanta.

This thesis analyzes the most critical part of Kants political philosophies, such as his idea of the eternal peace and the nature of state in comparison to today's ideas and political phenomena. It is an attempt to answer the question, what would be Kants reaction to the idea of European integration and European Union itself? The paper analyzes also Kants political philosophy of law, idea of state and moral philosophy. The goal of the thesis is to present the connection between Kants philosophical ideas and the European Union.
