Celem pracy zatytułowanej „Poszukiwanie własnego ja, czyli wszyscy jesteśmy tacy sami – problem poczucia tożsamości w utworach In‘ām Kaǧahǧī Al-ḥafīda al-amīrkyya oraz Marii Kuncewiczowej Cudzoziemka” jest wykazanie, że niezależnie od epoki, w której żyjemy, kraju, z którego pochodzimy i wielu innych czynników, wszyscy jesteśmy takimi samymi ludźmi i doświadczamy tych samych problemów. Analizie zostaje poddana tożsamość i problemy głównych bohaterek powyższych powieści, tj. Zayny Bahnām, Irakijki mieszkającej od wielu lat w Stanach Zjednoczonych, która wyjeżdża do ojczyzny w celach zarobkowych oraz Róży Żabczyńskiej, Polki wychowanej w Rosji, zmuszonej do powrotu do kraju przodków. Badaniu zostały poddane czynniki, które kształtują ich tożsamość, a wśród nich przede wszystkim relacje interpersonalne oraz własne postrzeganie świata.

The purpose of the work entitled "Searching for your true self, i.e. we are all the same - the problem of a sense of identity in the works of In'ām Kaǧahǧī Al-ḥafīda al-amīrkyya and Maria Kuncewiczowa’s Cudzoziemka" is to show that regardless of the era in which we live, the country we come from and live in and many other factors, we are all the same people and we experience the same problems. The identity and problems of the main characters of the above novels, i.e. Zayna Bahnām, an Iraqi woman who has lived in the United States for many years, who travels to her homeland for commercial purposes, and Róża Żabczyńska, a Polish woman brought up in Russia, forced to return to her ancestral country, is analyzed. The factors that shape their identity have been examined, including interpersonal relationships and their own perception of the world.
