Depictions of the impure forces in 20th-century Russian literature based on Aleksandr Kondratiev's On the Banks of the Yaryn and Mikhail Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita

Praca poświęcona jest sposobom przedstawienia siły nieczystej w dwóch powstałych w pierwszej połowie dwudziestego wieku rosyjskich powieściach - "Na brzegu Jarynia" Aleksandra Kondratiewa oraz "Mistrz i Małgorzata" Michaiła Bułhakowa. Stanowi próbę analizy czynników, które wpłynąć mogły na różnice w ujęciu przedstawicieli świata demonicznego w obydwu utworach. W pierwszym rozdziale przybliżona została etymologia terminu "siła nieczysta". Dokonano również porównania obrazów miasta i wsi w literaturze rosyjskiej XIX i XX wieku. W drugim rozdziale zamieszczono krótką biografię A. Kondratiewa, a także zbadano sposób przedstawienia panteonu bóstw słowiańskich, opisanych w powieści "Na brzegu Jarynia". Trzecia część pracy poświęcona jest wątkom i postaciom demonicznym, obecnym na kartach najsłynniejszej powieści M. Bułhakowa. Zanalizowano je przede wszystkim pod kątem kulturowym. Podsumowanie zawiera najważniejsze konkluzje dotyczące czasu i miejsca powstania, a zarazem akcji, obydwu utworów.

This academic work focuses on the ways in which impure force is depicted in two Russian novels, "On the Banks of the Yaryn" by Aleksandr Kondratiev and "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov, both published in the first half of the 20th century. It attempts to analyze the factors that may have influenced the differences in portrayal of the demonic world in both works.In the first chapter, the author makes an effort to explain the etymology of the term "impure force". Depictions of city and village in Russian literature of the 19th and 20th centuries have been compared. The second chapter contains a short biography of A. Kondratiev, and also explores the way of presenting the pantheon of Slavic deities described in the novel "On the Banks of Yaryn". The third part of the work is devoted to the themes and demonic characters presented on the pages of M. Bulgakov's most famous novel. They were analyzed primarily from a cultural perspective. The summary contains key conclusions about the time and place of the creation, as well as the action, of both works.
