Poza jednym zbiorem opowiadań przełożonym na język polski w 2019 r. postać Chi Zijian stanowi literacką zagadkę dla większości polskich czytelników. W jej utworach, korespondujących poniekąd z nurtem „literatury rodzinnych stron” drzemie jednak olbrzymi potencjał. Większość z nich została przychylnie przyjęta przez krytykę, zarówno w Chinach, jak i na Zachodzie. Za literackie opus magnum pisarki stanowiące zwieńczenie jej wcześniejszej twórczości uchodzi powieść „Prawy brzeg Argun”, uhonorowana prestiżową Nagrodą Literacką im. Mao Duna. Autorka niniejszej pracy podjęła więc próbę przybliżenia polskiemu Czytelnikowi osoby Chi Zijian oraz treści „Prawego brzegu Argun”. Starała się wykazać, że motywem przewodnim powieści jest szamanizm, stanowiący siłę napędową kultury ewenkijskiej, a metaforyczna śmierć ostatniej szamanki jest równoznaczna z powolnym obumieraniem całej kultury.

Apart from one collection of short stories translated into Polish in 2019, the figure of a Chinese writer Chi Zijian is a literary puzzle for most Polish readers. Her work, however, which correspond in a way with the literary current of 'literature of hometown' have a great potential. Most of her short stories were well received by critics, both in China and in the West. „The Last Quarter of the Moon” was awarded the prestigious Mao Dun Literature Prize and is considered the literary magnum opus of the writer, crowning her earlier work. The author of this dissertation has therefore attempted to familiarize the Polish readers with the figure of Chi Zijian and the content of her novel. The author has also tried to show that the leitmotif of the novel is shamanism considered the driving force of the Evenk culture. Metaphorical death of the last shaman is therefore synonymous with the slow dying of the entire culture.
